2016 Mercedes-Benz C300 vs 2016 Audi A4
Serving Dublin, Columbus, Powell, Hilliard, Grove City, OH
The small luxury sports coupe has been around since the early 1990s when the new luxury car customers demanded a vehicle that represented their youth and wealth. It connotes a faster performance car than a full-sized luxury car, so it attracts anyone with a big wallet and a yen for the road. Young at heart, the drivers of this category of luxury car want nimble handling, significant pop under the hood, luxurious interiors, superior styling and plenty of high-tech gadgets. And they want it in a package smaller than a family mid-size sedan.
It's not surprising that the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C300 and the Audi A4 are more similar than they are different. They're both German built cars with the same audience. They sell at the same price range, and the engine size is the same. Both cars occupy prominent positions in the luxury compact group, and that attracts crowds. These two luxury cars built impress many motorists and critics, and indeed they have loyal followers. Having said that, the Mercedes-Benz C300 has undergone more changes for 2016 than the Audi A4. As a result, the Mercedes-Benz C300 edges out the Audi A4 in a run-off.
Exterior
The Audi A4 retooled many features in 2016, but exterior styling has stayed the same. On the other hand, the Mercedes-Benz C300's exterior design encompasses all the lines and proportions associated with luxury cars going back through the decades. While it doesn't look as aggressive as the Audi A4, it looks so much classier, and the raised hood front end makes the right statement about the power under the hood.
Options
Both the Audi and Mercedes-Benz offer luxurious interiors. The Mercedes-Benz has a roomy interior with plenty of head and leg room. The front seats boast a dozen different settings so a driver is never uncomfortable driving it. The front seats are also leather, two-tone bucket seats and they're both comfortable and eye-catching. The package also includes key-less entry, turn-by-turn navigation and AM/FM radio, USB auxiliary audio input and media control, USB ports and Bluetooth®** wireless phone connection. The Audi 4 has a beautiful interior with many of the same features, but their technology options are dated.
Power-train
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz C300 and Audi A4 offer fast basic 2.0 liter four-cylinder engines with plenty of torque to accelerate fast. The C300 offers a seven speed shiftable transmission, and the Audi has a continuously variable speed automatic. Audi features a front wheel drive design. They both soar down the straight-away at about the same clip, but the more significant horsepower on the Mercedes-Benz gets it across the finish line faster, at 240 mph, about thirty-miles an hour faster, than the Audi A4. The rear-wheel drive Mercedes-Benz also offers a V6 upgrade with 300 hp.
